Implementing a Project Information Management System at a Major Pipeline Company

Join us for a complimentary presentation by Tom Greaves, Operations Technical Supervisor at Pembina Pipelines Corporation, to hear how Primavera P6 is currently being implemented for use by project managers across Pembina.

Stage one of the project, which has been completed, saw Pembina’s project managers learn to schedule using Primavera. Stage two, which is currently underway, includes learning how to report on project progress. This project is being undertaken during a period of unprecedented company growth, when most project managers only have time for putting out fires.

The presentation will discuss key project goals and metrics, and the deliverables required to produce them, including:

1) Timely and accurate project reporting,
2) The system must be able to work within Pembina’s culture and be supported by other Pembina IT systems, and
3) The project must be well managed, causing the least amount of pain for the company’s project managers.

The presentation will also talk about the human elements of implementing an IT project subject to changing priorities and potential scope creep issues.
