A common problem experienced by companies running many projects and requiring synchronized schedule updating is the effort required to get the multitude of people who really know the status of their activities to report them in a timely manner. Many of these people are have little time for, or interest in, task updating. The solution is to automatically push a reporting request to these people that asks for the absolute minimum of data and which is very easily filled in and returned by the clicks of a mouse.
Emerald’s solution is to send a request over the Internet or Intranet that shows only the active tasks that that person is working on. Furthermore, the person is presented with check off boxes to choose the progress on the activity. The person then clicks SEND and those activities are updated in the schedule. Failure to respond in a preset time triggers reminders and alarms.
