When using P6 timesheets, the description of the work hours performed is only captured at the weekly level. This is typically not detailed enough for engineering, consulting, and IT companies who need to have the notes detailed down to the individual cell or activity/day combination.
At Emerald, we use P6 timesheets internally for our project time tracking and project progressing but needed a solution that allowed cell level note capture for billing purposes. Emerald’s tool allows the user to input his/her timesheet in P6 Timesheets and then fill-in the timesheet notes for each activity/day combination in a custom portlet (window) that can be incorporated into MyPrimavera. These notes are then sent back into the P6 Timesheet updating the weekly notes with a printer friendly daily note format. Users can then submit the timesheet for approval using the P6 approval workflow. With integration to accounting, the invoicing process is completely automated.
