Title: Integrated Planning in the Utility Sector
Abstract: Utilities strive for efficiency gains to help manage workload with limited resources. Integrated planning relies on establishing an interface between the Work Management System and the Scheduling Software. This session describes an integrated planning solution that was rolled out for a US Utility. Two-way integration between work management systems and P6 was designed and implemented. The interface automatically creates and statuses substation projects, work requests and switching work in Primavera P6. Two enterprise reporting tools (EP-datawarehouse and EP-dashboard) were also rolled out to generate automated work load, schedule stability and switching performance KPI reports.
Objectives:
1: Describe the need for Work Management System integration with Primavera P6 in the Utility Sector
2: Identify interfaces and P6 add-on tools designed to help manage Distribution and Transmission work
3: Demonstrate how a reporting database can be leveraged to generate weekly KPI charts
