Unifier Business Process Workflows

CUSTOMIZING BUSINESS PROCESS WORKFLOWS IN UDESIGNER

Business process workflows can be customized in uDesigner to meet project requirements. The workflow is comprised of steps, where users input information on forms and actions. Once information has been inputted, users can choose to send information or trigger processes.

Here the request for bid business process workflow will be considered. The workflow is comprised of 3 main steps; bid package creation, bidding, and bid award. These steps can be seen in the workflow diagram of uDesigner. The steps are represented by rectangles. The arrows represent workflow actions and link the steps, as well as give the workflow a direction in which to proceed.

Workflow steps and actions can be modified in uDesigner to add increased functionality to projects. In the workflow represented by the image above, there are two bid award actions that will auto-create the necessary business process, depending on whether a purchase order or contract is up for bid. Another way to increase functionality is to create multiple workflows for the same business process and prompt the user to select which workflow to use. A sub-workflow can also be added which can help to simplify the workflow structure in uDesigner. The sub-workflow can be color coded and multiple step properties can be edited simultaneously.

Customizing workflows to match project requirements will help increase efficiency and success. Creating and modifying new business process workflows will also augment the functionality of Unifier within the company.
