What’s New in v7 of P6-Scrubber

At Emerald Associates, we are always looking to improve our tools and increase their functionality. We have recently released P6-Scrubber v7, which includes several new and overhauled features.

Role Code Functionality

You can now scrub, rename, and move role codes into another part of your role code dictionary. Previously, you could not make changes to role codes.

Changes to the Simple Scrub Feature

In the latest version of P6-Scrubber, we have added more features to the Simple Scrub, as well as given it a visual overhaul.

Previously, the functionality of the P6-Scrubber Simple Scrub was limited to a couple of options. You could choose whether to delete/scrub all data, add prefixes to all sets of selected data, and could roll down codes and calendars.

In the new version of P6-Scrubber, we have added new functions:

• You can now move project, activity, resource, and role codes into hierarchies in Simple Scrub, saving hours of manual restructuring in Primavera P6.
• You can now select a Project UDF or a Project Code in the connected P6 database to be used in the Prefix and Hierarchy Parent columns. This will take the UDF’s value and make it into a prefix for your selected data. This can be useful if you already have a UDF, such as region or business group, that you will use for your new prefixing naming convention. This feature saves potential hours of manual renaming, and removes the risk of typos.

SQLite Import

You can now import files directly for scrubbing from an SQLite file using our new Scrubber Utility tool. This tool will apply a scrub you have built to your entire SQLite database and all the projects contained within it. This is useful when migrating standalone databases into one shared environment, making sure that naming conventions across the entire database are consistent, and that code dictionaries are consistent and shared between the merged databases.

Functionality with P6-Calculator

If you have also purchased Emerald’s P6-Calculator tool, you can run the P6-Scrubber in a more streamlined way with the P6-Calculator in P6, creating a scrubbing profile in the P6-Scrubber and automatically running it when moving your files from one database to another.

This is useful for building a P6-EPPM database from standalone databases; you do not have to bring all your UDFs and codes into your new database, and can make sure that your new database is kept clean of old or junk data. This also saves a tremendous amount of time that would normally be spent manually exporting and importing projects into the new database.

The P6-Calculator can now do it for you and clean your data at the same time, freeing you up to complete other tasks while the Calculator runs in the background.
