Oracle Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) Terms and Definitions

Alerts
The Alerts feature enables you to create custom system and email notifications to alert users or user groups when a threshold is met.
App
Refers to different areas within Primavera Cloud where users perform tasks to manage projects. Examples include Schedule, Tasks, Risks, and Portfolio Analysis. These apps can be pre-configured by application administrators to be displayed or hidden based on user needs.
Assignment List Page
The Assignment List page allows resource and project managers to review resource allocation for planning and analysis.
Baseline
A baseline is a copy of a project's schedule data at a given point in time. As a static representation of the project plan, it can be used as a benchmark against which to measure performance as the project progresses.
Dashboards App
The Dashboards app enables you to view and manage dashboards and charts. View dashboards for workspaces, projects, programs, and portfolios.
Dictionary
In Primavera Cloud, dictionaries are used to manage enterprise data such as currencies, baseline types, and resources. Dictionaries in Primavera Cloud are created at the workspace level and can be shared to child workspaces either automatically or manually.
Earned Value
The budgeted cost of work that has actually been performed by a specified date. You can think of this as the portion of the approved budget that has been completed.
Hand-Offs
The Hand-offs page displays the full network of tasks and task milestones in your project. The page is optimized for creating and modifying task hand-offs in a variety of ways. You can also add tasks, assign constraints, create hand-offs between tasks, and commit to perform the task work.
Ideas
Ideas refer to proposals or suggestions submitted by employees, contractors, or users for organizational goals or improvements.
PBS
A hierarchical representation of the components required for a project. It represents what is to be built, and is used for initial planning to organize scope items, the materials, or products needed to complete a project.
Planned Value
The budgeted cost of work that is scheduled to be performed by a specified date, which is typically the project's data date.
Portfolios
A project portfolio is a collection of projects and programs that are managed together to achieve strategic objectives.
Program
A program refers to a collection of related projects that are managed together to achieve a common strategic goal.
Program Milestones View
The Program Milestones view is available (standard) on the Activities page to track the milestone progress of your program's projects. Milestones mark significant events in a project, such as the beginning of the project, the start or end of a new phase, and the completion of the project.
Reports App
The Reports app enables you to leverage customizable reports to communicate detailed or summarized information about projects.
Resource App
The Resource App allows project and resource managers to create and maintain a pool of resources and roles. This app is available at both the Project and Workspace levels, enabling users to create resources and roles that can be used in one or multiple projects.
Schedule
A project schedule is a formalized plan that defines when a project will begin and end, how long it will take, the required steps to complete it, and the associated costs.
Schedule App
The Schedule app provides a comprehensive solution to organize and manage a schedule of activities required to complete a project. Define a list of activities, specify relationships and constraints, assign resources, quantify work using units and costs, and logically sequence the activities into a project schedule. At the program level, manage the activities for all projects within the program.
Scope App
The Scope app provides an install-based deliverables management solution, enabling project managers and cost controllers to define the deliverables, materials, or products that are required to complete a project. The app enables tracking of the installation and cost of the scope items without requiring a detailed schedule.
Scope Assignments
Scope Assignments are components of the project scope that are assigned to specific activities or work packages.
Scope Items
Scope items are the materials or products needed to complete a project.
Strategic Alignment App
The Strategic Alignment app is used to define and monitor short- and long-term business strategies and organizational goals. It is also used to evaluate and prioritize projects, programs, and ideas for execution.

Summary Cost Sheet

The Summary Cost Sheet provides information on the costs and hours of all projects or child workspaces within a workspace or program. The workspace Summary Cost Sheet shows information on the projects or child workspace within a workspace. The program Summary Cost Sheet shows aggregate costs and hours of all projects added to the program as well as the costs and hours related to the program.

Tasks App

The Tasks app provides a lightweight lean construction planning and scheduling solution to manage the tasks required to complete a project.
View
Primavera Cloud uses Views to filter, group, and sort information. There are different types of views, including Standard, Workspace, Project, and Personal, each with its own accessibility and creation rules.
Workspace
In Primavera Cloud, workspaces are used to group and organize projects in a hierarchy. Primavera Cloud has a single top-level workspace, typically renamed to the company’s name. Below this Root workspace, there are two default workspaces: Production and Non-Production. Additional child and grandchild workspaces can be added as needed to organize projects further.
Work Breakdown Structure
The project work breakdown structure (WBS) is a hierarchical arrangement of the products and services produced during and by a project. Each element of a WBS may contain more-detailed WBS elements, activities, or both.
Work Packages
A work package is a component used to break down the work defined in the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) into smaller, manageable deliverables.
Work Package Change Request

Work Plan
Create a work package change request when new work packages need to be added to the project, new scope assignments need to be added to work packages, the scope assignment quantity, hours, or CBS code need to be adjusted, or when scope assignments need to be transferred.


A virtual planning board used by companies working on a project to coordinate their tasks. It allows users to add tasks, assign and monitor task constraints, commit to dates, and place tasks in sequence using hand-offs.
