Step by Step Instructions on how to Upgrade Primavera P6
Here are step by step instructions on how to upgrade your Primavera P6 16.x environment to the new Primavera P6 17.7.
Download the latest version from edelivery.oracle.com.
Extract Oracle Primavera P6 Client from the zip file named V886690-01.zip.
Run the setup.exe that is in the P6_Professional_for_EPPM folder, and choose the Upgrade option.
Press Upgrade again.
It will begin to upgrade itself. Now we need to Run Database Configuration.
Set the driver type to Oracle.
You need to enter your connection string. In this case, it's prima.
You will have to enter your public login information.
Then you should be ready to go!
Upgrading the Primavera P6 Database
Select Upgrade an existing database.
Type in your database connection information.
Put in your Administrative user name and Administrative user password.
You will need to create a new keystore password here.
Type in the user names and passwords for each user.
Now you can upgrade your database.
