New Features

  • New UDFs to show variances and calculated values - P6-QA may report that you have activities that are overdue for updating, but are they over by 2 days or 2 months? And what is your project's critical path length index (CPLI) exactly? Now you can view these metrics right in P6 to know how close they are to your target values.

  • Indicators for resource assignments - P6-QA has reported you have resource assignments that are missing roles, actuals or perhaps are over budget. In this release, we've added indicator UDFs. P6-QA populates them to let you find the affected resource assignment with ease.

  • P6-Reporter Ready - We've added custom tables to our P6-Reporter tool that neatly arrange your P6-QA data, including all of the inspection details, so it's ready to be put into the reporting software of your choice.

  • P6-QA statistics can now be pushed into time-based graphics. Being able to critique different portions of your schedule to get a much better idea of the risks and timing of those risks.

Enhancements

  • Improved inspection control - Are there inspections you are not using? Turn them off to get a more streamlined report and save points. We've made it easier to control which QA inspections you want and which you don't.

They are the largest Power Delivery detail designer in the US, Top 5 in Power (Generation + Power Delivery), have 10+ years as Top 10 Food & Beverage Engineering firm and are a Top 200 Environmental firm.

Challenges

  • The client wanted to move their in-house Primavera P6 environment to a cloud option with full time support.

  • Internal IT was overloaded with other initiatives and lacked expertise in maintaining their Primavera P6 environment.

  • They required the ability to maintain and analyze their Primavera P6 data in an easy, reliable manner.

Results

  • Their Primavera was moved to the Emerald hosting environment, which allowed Emerald to become their full time host and support model.

  • Emerald provides expertise in Primavera and provides complete support for their Primavera databases.

Challenges

  • Needed a solution to coach their client users on scheduling best practices

  • Users required a way to monitor the quality of their schedules while creating schedules, as well as when they were in-flight

  • A specific set of quality checks were needed based on contract requirements and general quality guidelines

Results

  • Emerald Associates built additional checks and a custom report focusing on what was of importance to their team

  • Client was looking for an alternative to the Oracle Cloud for them and the Department of Transportation (DOT) they were working with.

  • The Program Controls manager wanted faster response time on support tickets for four databases.

SAP Hana Cloud to P6 Integration

Integration enables the management of work orders, tasks, relationships, resources, and resource assignments; providing synchronized scheduling and resource updates.



Emerald Associates created Work Orders from SAP Hana Cloud into P6 Azure Cloud for detailed task and resource management in P6 using Mulesoft and the EAI P6 Cloud API. We created SAP Operations and supporting resources and resource limits as new resources are introduced in SAP.

  • Tasks - create/update tasks from SAP operations
  • Relationships - create/update relationships from SAP and allow P6 schedulers to change and update them back from P6
  • Resources - create/update for new crews in SAP and set limits
  • Resource Assignments - create/update resource assignments from SAP operations and sub-operations for detailed resource management
  • P6 → SAP - return operation and sub-operation lists and relationships to update SAP with P6 schedule information
